In the photo we see the husband and wife team of Carol and Christopher Palko, the owners of Palko Jewellery Design in Brockville. The couple has been in business full-time for three years offering innovative jewelry design and repair in a Victorian home setting. Christopher has been goldsmithing for 20 years including four years at the Jewel Box. Carol is a certified diamond grader and is nearing completion of a Gemological Institute of America course on diamonds that will certify her in the appraisal of diamonds. We see the couple at their digital design centre that allows them to present their clients with a photorealistic picture of a proposed piece. This process aids greatly in visualizing a new or remounted piece. Using a computerized catalogue of ring mounts and stones the client can actively participate in the design process for new rings, earrings or pendants. The couple can also reproduce jewelry from photographs and can make your old, out-of-style pieces wearable again by incor-porating the gemstones from older pieces into stylish new mounts. This option is an economical way to give new life to old jewelry. Palko offers a variety of metals in several qualities and a wide selection of precious and semi-precious stones with which to make their jewelry. Stones are brought into the shop and are approved by the client before being set into the new piece. All pieces are manufactured on the premises. Palko also offers a complete in-store jewelry repair service. Carol and Christopher always offer their clients best-price options when having restoration or repair work done. Estimates, jewelry cleaning and design services are free. The shop also stocks a selection of quality retail jewelry pieces including cultured pearls and silver pieces. Palko Jewellery Design specializes in wedding and engagement ring design which allows clients to design their own special pieces at a price that is very competitive with retail outlets. Carol and Christopher emphasize quality and craftmanship with their clients and take the time to educate their clients on the quality aspects of gemstones and metals. The shop is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with weekend and evening appointments available. The accept VISA, cash and cheques.
